Baby sign language can help your little one feel less-frustrated

☞ Baby sign language is a method of teaching simple gestures for the things a baby wants and needs. 

Babies are born with a tendency to communicate with their hands. For instance, many babies twist their hands back and forth or clap when excited. They understand before they can speak and that’s a big reason why baby sign language is so effective. ⁣

Many parents worry that teaching baby sign language will delay speaking. But research shows the opposite. A large study funded by NIH showed the baby’s who used sign language had larger vocabularies and comprehended more words by age two.

☞ You can start using baby sign language anytime but 4 - 6 months is common.  A great starting point is to use functional words like 'milk', 'more', and 'all done'. 

Baby sign language is an amazing way to encourage early communication, boost self-esteem, strengthen parent-child bonds, and inspire self-awareness. It’s an awesome way to bond and better understand your baby. Babies who sign are better able to communicate their needs, which is a lot less frustrating for everyone. Plus, it’s fun!
