Making a Mess Boosts Brain Power.
I’m really really sorry to say this BUT making a mess at mealtimes is great for a tot’s development.
That doesn’t mean you need to allow your baby to throw food or toss it on the floor, but a hands-on approach has many developmental benefits.
Remember, play is experimenting, observing outcomes, learning, and then reevaluating. It’s research and development.
Little kids learn by poking, squishing, and tasting their food.
Exploring food with her hands makes a toddler happy and helps her understand her world.
It also helps with avoiding picky eating habits.
Once your little one is doing more throwing than eating, it's a good time to end the meal.
But let's get real...
You won't always have the time or energy to deal with messes--and that's perfectly ok!
➔ PRO-TIP: Limit the mess by using a floor mat to make clean-up easier.
